Definitions Artist's Book A work of art that assumes a book or paginated format. It may be editioned, or unique. An artist's book may contain text, or be strictly visual.   Artist’s Proof A print or prints outside of the numbered edition. In general the artist’s proof is the means by which the artist may follow the development of the print. The artist’s proof is usually inscribed A.P. and numbered consecutively if there is more than one.   Bleed Print A print in which the image or inked surface extends to the edge of the paper.   Blindstamp The identifying mark of an artist, studio, or publisher that is embossed into a print or work on paper.   Chine Appliqué A method of adhering a thin, lightweight paper to a heavier sheet under pressure.
