Collage A process in which elements are glued on to a work of art. |

Color Trial Proof A proof made before or after an edition is printed, to explore alternative color possibilities. Usually marked as C.T.P., or "Color Trial Proof", and sequentially numbered if there is more than one. |

Deckle Edge The rough edge of handmade paper created by pulp that was trapped between the deckle and the edge of the paper mold. On mold-made papers (as opposed to handmade) a faux deckle is often created by tearing the edges of the sheet. |

Drypoint A technique in which the artist scratches or carves an image into a metal plate. Ink is then pushed into the crevices in the plate, excess ink wiped away, and the plate is run through an etching press. |

Edition A series of identical print impressions, each consecutively numbered, and signed by the artist. An edition of 25, for example, contains 25 identical prints. |
